Brajabandhu Mahanta is the driving force behind OdishaGeography.com. Combining a strong academic foundation with years of dedicated teaching and mentorship, he has built this platform to make the geography of Odisha accessible, accurate, and engaging.
Academic Excellence
Currently serving as an Assistant Professor of Political Science at Dharanidhar University (DDU) in Keonjhar, his multidisciplinary academic background bridges technology, humanities, and social sciences. He holds a Master of Computer Applications (MCA) alongside a Master of Arts (MA) in Political Science, where he distinguished himself as a University Gold Medalist. Further expanding his expertise, he also holds an MA in History and is UGC NET qualified.
Leadership & Civil Service Mentorship
Having successfully navigated the complexities of competitive exams and appeared for the UPSC interview twice, he brings invaluable firsthand experience to his students. He actively shapes the journeys of future civil servants as the Director and faculty member at OBJECTIVE IAS, where he leads classes in Geography, History, General Studies, and PSIR (Political Science and International Relations) Optional. Additionally, he serves as a dedicated PSIR mentor at KALINGA IAS.
Authorship & Digital Initiatives
A passionate educator beyond the classroom, he is a recognized author who has penned essential study materials, including comprehensive guides for the OPSC Geography and History optionals, as well as academic texts such as Political Theory: An Endless Conversation.
His commitment to digitalizing and preserving regional knowledge extends beyond geography; he is also the founder and administrator of the sister portal, historyofodisha.in, which serves as a dedicated digital archive for the state’s historical heritage.
